How to follow up after a call

Most Netch calls start from the shared Calendar Link flow. The call is only the start. A short follow-up helps turn a good conversation into an actual relationship.

    Why follow up matters

A quick follow-up keeps the momentum going.

It reminds the other person what you talked about. It makes the next step easy to act on. It also shows that you are thoughtful and reliable.

If the call went well, do not wait too long. Send something while the conversation is still fresh.

What to send after a useful call

Keep it short. One or two paragraphs is enough.

    Send:

    • A thank-you note
    • One useful takeaway from the call
    • A resource that matches the topic
    • A clear next step

    Example:

"Great talking today. I liked the point you made about partner-led growth.

Sharing the article we mentioned: https://example.com/partner-led-growth

If useful, I can also introduce you to Maya. She is working on the same problem."

If you agreed on a next step, say it plainly.

    Example:

"Thanks again for the call. I will send the intro to Sam tomorrow. If you want, we can also reconnect next week after you review the deck."

How to share a resource, intro, or next step in plain text

Use simple language. You do not need a polished format.

    Share a resource

Paste the link directly in Chat or in a message after the call.

    Example:

"Here is the guide we discussed: https://example.com/guide"

    Make an intro

Name the person clearly and explain why the intro helps.

    Example:

"Happy to introduce you to Sara. She has already solved this in her team, and I think her approach would help here."

    Confirm the next step

Say who is doing what and when.

    Example:

"I will send the recap later today. You can reply here if anything changes."

Plain text is enough. Keep it direct. The goal is to make the next action obvious.

When to keep the chat active

Keep the chat open when there is still something to do.

    Use Chat if:

    • You want to send a recap
    • You promised a resource
    • You are arranging an intro
    • You expect another call
    • The conversation is still moving forward

Staying in chat makes it easy to continue the thread without losing context.

When to mark the meeting as done

Mark the meeting as done when the main purpose of the call is finished.

    Use Mark as done when:

    • You have exchanged the useful information
    • There is no follow-up left
    • The call was a one-off introduction
    • The relationship can stay quiet for now

This keeps the conversation list clean and makes later follow-up easier to find.

If the chat still has an open task, keep it active. If the work is complete, mark it done from Chat.

    Simple rule

If the call created a next action, keep the chat going.

If the call reached a natural end, mark the meeting as done.
