Set up your profile in 10 minutes

Welcome to Netch. Your profile is how other SaaS professionals find you, decide to connect with you, and know how to book time with you. Here's how to get it right.

    How the profile works

    Your profile has two tiers.

Basics (8 fields) are required to unlock full Discover functionality. Until you complete all 8, you can browse other members but filters won't work and swipes won't count. You'll see a banner on your profile saying "Complete the basics to unlock Discover and start matching."

Stand Out (6 fields) are optional. They help you appear in search filters and give other members more reasons to connect with you. They don't gate any feature, but filling them in raises your profile quality score and makes you more discoverable.

You can track your progress on the two-zone bar at the top of your profile page. The left zone shows your Basics progress (X/8). The right zone shows your Stand Out progress (X/6). When Basics hits 8/8, you'll see a green "Ready to match" label.

Step 1: Fill in the Basics

Go to Settings > Profile. The first section is called Your Profile. These are the 8 fields you need to complete:

    FieldWhat to enter
    Full NameAt least 2 characters
Job TitleYour current role (e.g., Product Manager)
    CompanyWhere you work right now
    CountryYour current location
Professional BioA short description of your professional background (at least 10 characters, max 500)
GoalsAt least one goal from the list (see options below)
Calendar LinkA valid booking URL (e.g., cal.com/yourname, Calendly)
LinkedInYour LinkedIn profile URL (linkedin.com or lnkd.in)

Goals options: Share knowledge, Find a mentor, Just meet interesting people, Explore new ideas, Find collaborators. You can pick more than one.

The calendar link is used in the automatic message Netch sends when you match with someone. Without it, the matching system can't complete the handoff.

Fields that still need filling are highlighted with a colored border so you can spot them at a glance.

Hit Update Profile to save. Once all 8 are complete, Discover unlocks and you're ready to match.

Step 2: Add the Stand Out fields

The second section is called Stand Out. None of these are required, but each one does something useful:

    • Industry: Makes you appear in industry filter searches.
    • Sectors: Makes you appear in sector filter searches (B2B, SaaS, Marketplace, etc.).
    • Personal Bio: Gives people a human reason to connect, beyond your job title.
    • Tools: Makes you appear when someone filters by a specific tool.
    • Skills: Makes you appear when someone filters by a specific skill.
    • City: Helps people find connections in their city.

Filling these in raises your completion score toward 14/14.

Step 3: Add Communities and Events (optional)

At the bottom of the profile page, you'll see a Communities and Events section. If you're part of any partner communities or have attended Netch events, you can mark yourself as a participant here. This information isn't part of the 14-field score, but it helps others find common ground.

What happens when you're not done yet

If you open Discover before completing the Basics, you can see other members but two things won't work. Filters are disabled, so you can't narrow down who you see. Swipes don't count, so no matches get recorded.

Complete the Basics and save. Discover starts working fully right away.

    Tips

    • The calendar link is the most commonly missed field. Make sure it's a full URL including https://.
    • Your professional bio just needs to be at least 10 characters. A single sentence is enough to unlock matching, and you can edit it any time.
    • You can save partial progress at any time. You only need all 8 Basics complete to unlock Discover.
