How to get your first match
A match happens when two people both swipe right on each other in Discover. Here's how to make it happen.
Before you start: complete your profile
Filters and swipe recording only work once your 8 Basics fields are filled in. If Discover isn't working or swipes aren't counting, go to Settings > Profile and complete the required fields first.
See Set up your profile in 10 minutes for instructions.
Step 1: Open Discover
Tap the Discover tab. You'll see a feed of profile cards. Each card shows name, job title, company, goals, and any shared signals like tools or industries you have in common.
Step 2: Filter (optional)
Filters help you see the right people faster. You can filter by:
- Role
- Industry
- Sector
- Tools
- Skills
- City or country
You don't have to filter. The default feed works fine.
Step 3: Swipe right
When you see someone you'd genuinely like to connect with, swipe right or tap the checkmark. Swipe left to pass.
There's no limit on swipes. Swiping left doesn't cost you anything.
Step 4: Wait for the match
When someone you swiped right on also swipes right on you, you match. Netch sends an automatic message to both of you with both calendar links included.
You'll see the match in your Matches tab.
Step 5: Book the call
The auto message has both calendar links. Click the other person's link to pick a time. That's all it takes to move from match to meeting.
If you haven't matched yet
- Check that your profile is complete. An incomplete profile makes others less likely to swipe back.
- Swipe more. Matches are mutual, so volume helps.
- Add Stand Out fields like Tools and Skills. They give others more reason to swipe right.
