Discovering people attending events near you
Where attendee discovery starts
Start in the Events tab.
There you will see upcoming Netch meetups and third-party SaaS events near you. Each event shows the people attending, so you can look ahead before you go.
Open an event to see the attendee list. From there, you can move into Discover and start connecting with people who will be in the same room.
What you can do before the event
Review the attendee list
Check who is going. Look for people you would actually want to meet, not just anyone nearby.
Connect on Discover
You can reach out on Discover before the event starts. Matching and chat work the same way here as they do elsewhere in Netch.
If you both swipe right, you match. After that, you can chat as usual.
Use the event as context
Mention the event when you reach out. It gives the conversation a clear reason to start.
How filters help you narrow the pool
Use City and Country filters to focus on the right attendees.
City
Use City when you want people tied to the event location or a nearby area.
Country
Use Country when you want a wider view of attendees in the same region.
These filters help you skip people who are too far away and focus on the event crowd that matters most.
What happens after a mutual right swipe
When you both swipe right, you match.
After the match:
- The match appears in the Matches tab
- You can message each other directly
- You can keep the conversation going before the event, during the event, or after it
There is no special event-only flow. A mutual right swipe works the same way it does anywhere else in Netch.
Practical prep tips
Update your profile first
Make sure your profile is complete before you start browsing attendees. People are more likely to match when they can quickly understand who you are and why you are attending.
Pick a few targets
Do not try to message everyone. Start with a short list of people you would genuinely like to meet.
Send a clear first message
Keep it short. Mention the event and one specific reason you want to connect.
Plan for the handoff
If a chat goes well, decide early whether you want to meet at the event or continue the conversation later.
Check the timing
Look at the event date before you reach out. The best pre-event messages are sent early enough for the other person to respond.
Good habits before an event
- Open the Events tab as soon as you know you will attend
- Use City and Country filters to narrow the attendee list
- Swipe right only on people you want to meet
- Start chat before the event if you want to avoid cold introductions
- Keep your first message short and specific
